Its been a pretty crazy year with work & other commitments. I don't get on here much any more, so don't write me off if its a long time before I answer.
Life is still good though, when I take time away from my frustrated navel-gazing to see it. I have a man who still smiles at me in the morning (at least when I'm there!), and a job that is as entertaining as it is frustrating. I still find several good reasons to get up every day, and I rest most nights with a peaceful soul. I am feeling my passion again, for which I am grateful, and I am finding myself inspired more every day.
Always on the lookout for another kindred spirit. I believe there are all sorts of them out there I've never met yet. Just say hello.
The ONE that means the most: 1. Garfield
TWO things I value in my friends: 1. I’m can be as irrational as I want when I’m upset, and they won’t draw attention to my momentary loss of grace and logic. 2. The ability to play, to giggle, to create, and inspire.
THREE things I have learned: 1. The heart is more resilient than we think. It has shattered and re-fused itself a thousand times with a thousand tears, and a thousand joys 2. When I let feelings of competition overwhelm my creativity, I miss the whole point. 3. The best investment you can make in a relationship is in yourself. If you smother yourself in someone else, you lose everything that made you interesting in the first place.
FOUR of my favourite sounds: 1. A siren in the night – it comforts me – “watching their flock by night” 2. The last “death throes” of my coffee maker telling me a fresh cup is on the way 3. My husband hollering “where is my wife!” when he comes through the door. 4. A crispy fall leaf crackling under my foot.
FIVE scents that make me breathe deeply: 1) Jasmine, 2) Fresh Coffee 3) Cinnamon 4) The forest after it rains, and, lastly ... 5) Bacon (its never made my nose fat!)
SIX movies I watched again: 1. Amelie 2. Waking Ned Devine 3. Philadelphia Story (along with the musical version “High Society”) 4. The Thin Man 5. The Big Sleep 6. African Queen
SEVEN songs to make me smile: 1. "Helplessly Hoping" by Crosby Stills Nash & Young (or some combination of them at some point!) 2. "Amapola" by Juan Luis Guerra 3. "Sara Smile" by Hall & Oates 4. "Do I Move You" by Nine Simone 5. "Need a Little Sugar in My Bowl" also by Nina Simone 6. "Queen Bee" by Taj Mahal (because a Bee like me needs a theme song) 7. and, lastly, because I'm not always feeling the need for substance "We Want the Funk" by Parliament. |
