Music rules....mainly interesting indie (so NOT Coldplay,Keane,u2.....especially u2 and their tribute act The Killers, Boner should do us all a favour and get himself crucified so we can justifiably call him Jesus and while we're at sort out The Hedge and general custer aswell)....and welcoming recent members of the (shite) club Razorlight, the Kaiser Chiefs. Alright alright and the Kooks!! The Script, Kasabian, Kings Of Leon, Editors, Libertines, Foals, ....yep Harry hates em all.
2010 also saw the worst performance by any band I have seen. Be warned if you go to a Crystal Castles gig. I mean at least the Mondays had a bit of scally charm when they walked off after 20 mins.
However guiding lights in this increasingly bland musical world.............. The fall, dEUS, Beta Band, My Bloody Valentine, Yo La Tengo, Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem, Pixies, Joy Division, Nick Drake, the scary Pere Ubu, bits of Beefheart when i get the mood, Smiths, (and) Wedding Present (of course), XTC, Suuns, Galaxie 500, The Breeders,Stereolab, My Morning Jacket, etc Loads more but thats your starter for ten.
Guilty pleasures: EARLY Genesis and select other prog bands, 70s disco/funk, ABC, Rush-Farewell to Kings is belter, .....
Wow films: Withnail and I, Carry on up the Khyber (in fact most carry ons), Kellys Heroes, Hammer, Bad Taste, Digby-the Biggest Dog in the World, Gregory's Girl, Long Good Friday, Some Lynch (I saw Eraserhead when I was 12 and it scared the shit out of me), Naked, The Servant, Mutiny on the Buses, Dead Ringers, Harold and Maude, Fight Club, Swedish Piss Party, Yer man Hitchcock...loads more. Just a mixed up kid really.
