I'm going to visit New York soon. On my own. I've never flown in a plane so hopefully the fact that huge metal boats really do fly isn't just a mad joke. I've been advised to join the "mile high solo club" to ease the nerves. I've no idea what that is, so I guess I'll ask a stewardess when I get offered my first drink.

I'll have to stay in a hostel in NY cos I'm poor, but that's okay.

Just a little worried about sharing a dorm with 12 strangers. What if I fart a lot? What if they fart a lot?

What if someone creeps over my bed and stares at me while I sleep? If they do this but I'm not yet asleep would it be rude to let them know I was awake?

That reminds of a nightmare my friend had. She said she woke up in her dream and saw a creepy old lady standing at the end of her bed in the dark. Terrified she pulled the sheets over her face. Minutes passed but she couldn't sleep and couldn't wake up and was too scared to look out from under the sheets.

Eventually she mustered up the courage to look. She slowly pulled back the sheets . . . to see the old lady's face right there, inches in front of hers . . .

Anyway. New York. Any good or what? I plan on going to some dirty, fun Irish bar where people drink heavily and sing songs. I'll show 'em how to drink - I'm half Irish and one eighth Polish. Then I'll show 'em how to fall over and get arrested.
