Music, books, and art are most generally what get me through the day, but I don't think it's fair to say they are my life because they are so much more- the culmination of an artist's emotions put to paper. Tell me, how can I stake any claim to that?

It's just as stupid to like something just because everyone else does as it is to like something just because everyone else hates it. The only person you live with your whole life is yourself, so therefore, you only have to worry about pleasing your Self.
