I like fish. I like where fish live. I want to do everything I can to keep those places where fish live clean. There are fish everywhere so I'd better get at it.

I don't know how much longer S. Ontario will be my home. Too many people. I miss the community of small towns and the ability to get away to a quiet people free place. Then again from the sounds of it, my home is being destroyed back in Alberta. Multi million dollar expansion to the West Castle (Castle Mountain to those that didn’t ski here before the 90’s) ski hill and a resort planned for Crowsnest Lake... might as well be the end of the world. No point in going back to ranching, lucky I like biology.

If you like the wilderness read any book by Andy Russell (14 books and the Order of Canada)
His son also has great story and pictures, http://www.cloudline.org/ .

I like to read. All sorts of stuff, from D. Quinn to G.R.R. Martin. I really like Bernard Cornwell, brilliant author! I also like how L. E., Jr. Modesitt writes.

Currently I’m reading Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World, by Mark Kurlansky. Very cool book.

I like all sorts of music.
Country kick right now… but I prefer Celtic, folk, etc. Big Sugar, Great Big Sea, The Tragically Hip, Ian Tyson, Sid Marty; good music with a bit of a story. The Smalls were a great punk band and now Corb Lund is pretty good. Most of the time I don’t really pay attention to the music though… it is always in the background, where it should be. www.ckua.org is on perpetually when I’m in the office. The birds sing when I’m not.

Sick of Cement
Where is the green
the clear
the song
Where is the life

Metalic taste of
blood on the lip
Bite hard
They blame the US
but it is us all
Where is the life

Gray sky
Birds below
on the ground
Can't fly free
of it
Where is the life

Miss the Arctic
Miss my mountain home
How much longer
in this gray
Where is the life
