I'm a semi-retired writer....do writers ever fully retire? I live in France & England. Unless you have something interesting and worthwhile to say quietitude is advised, particularly tortured teen drama queens. Similarly, the composers of pretentious profiles awash with half baked pseudo poetry can leave me in peace.
If you've lived, loved, lost and experienced the true grit of life I'm interested in hearing from you
If I seem cynical then it's because my credo, 'look for little in your fellow humans and even in that small expectation they will let you down', is mostly fulfilled. There is only one thing sure, open yourself to love and your joy will be tempered with hurt in equal measure
Poussin derided Caravaggio for painting characters as real, ugly and vulgar. It behoves the serious writer to warn against the romantic who would gloss over the very real pitfalls into which the treacherous would have us plunge. |
