I'm a Portland native. There's a television show that is currently running called Portlandia that does a decent job of poking fun at the city I live in.
I like to keep myself busy. I've become a bit of a homebody. My hobbies include: cartography, tropical freshwater aquariums, pugs, beer, vegetarian cooking, pickling, vegan baking and using my crock pot as much as possible. I'm a classic car enthusiast. I own a Studebaker and a Packard. I just adopted another pug from my local pug rescue organization, bringing my pack up to three.
I just turned 40 and it's a little freaky. I've been trying to take better care of myself. Suffered from a herniated disc causing sciatica last year and didn't really enjoy the physical therapy. I've been trying to reduce the amount of processed food in my diet. I'm considering the paleo diet. Starting to exercise more, now that I can again. I just quit smoking after a 25 year habit.
I'm a geographer and spend my days working on solving a myriad of GIS problems that the Lands specialists and surveyors in my agency encounter. Any old AML programmers out there? I telecommute on a full time basis and I love it.
I like music ranging from Hawaiian slack key to black metal. I'm a sucker for cheesy hair metal and '70s proto doom and psych rock. I go out to see local music on the weekends. I'm hooked on Craigslist and Food.com. I'm a gadget and technology buff, but at the same time I'm trying to slow down and enjoy a simpler life. |
