I am iinterested in many things like art, technology, reading, writing and language and culture.
By background I was trained as a biochemist and pharmacologist and learned computer technology on my own without much formal training. Oddly most of the "real work:" I have done in my life involves computers and high technology which makes me giggle when I read certain mystery writers like David Baldacci which is how I found this site through gnod. Oh I also teach by presentation meterology basics to Junior High Students...
Since I wrote this things have changed a bit. I am now doing marine and aviation forecasting for a number of private firms. This helps suppliment my disablity paycheck; Note the US is a lot less genereous than many european countries when it comes to help of the poor and disabled; fears of the "nanny state" enforce a very weird and often painful set of haves and havenots although overall California is very prosperous. This being the case and I being reasonably bright and skilled I do what I can.
Have Fun, Sends Steve
P.S. Note the picture is some years old and as of late I let my close friends convince we to do a "remodeling of my image" so I have shorter hair and am somewhat more clean shaven and have moderately better clothes; I am still waiting for the great benefits this is supposed to produce!;) Oh by the way I still teach meteorology on the side for fun and change(both literal and pocket i.e. pouche d'argent;) and find out that I often am explaining paleoclimate and putative global warming. Fell free to write and ask questions or make comments in either French or English. |
