I have been called wise. This is true if wisdom is defined as the state that one achieves as a result of surviving the multitude of mistakes and wrong turns one takes. It is also true if one lives to be older than dirt.
I walked Haight Ashbury before the flower children showed up and worked in the fields of grapes that Caesar Chavez' UFW struck. I lived American Grafitti in a small California rural town.
I am the beginning of the Baby Boom born of parents who not only gave a damn but also were ahead of not only their time but this time, as well.
I am now at the age where my friends are starting to die (or as one friend says, "rushing on a collision course with The Brick Wall"). Unfortunately, death has claimed some young friends as well. At this writing, I am consoling an HIV-positive friend (passed on to her by her husband) as well as one who has just lost a young adult daughter just when everything was starting to go her way.
I know what it is like to be poor and am not afraid of it. I know what it is like not to be poor...and am not afraid of that either.
I have the ability to intuitively and correctly forecast future realities, based on current events and actions. In my line of work, it has made me one of the best in the business...which is good, because it gets me the resources to do other things I enjoy.
I am also a writer, photogragher, photo-artist and technologist.
I believe that in the winds of change, you must keep the fire within.
