Flork is a nice resource for contact with strangers. Some nice conversations, some not so nice. But all in all, quite good.

Music is a good window and many florkers use it as an intro, so here is mine.

Recent groups I enjoy include Explosions in the Sky, Caribou, Zero 7, Sufjan Stevens, Four Tet, VNV Nation, Sigur Ros, wumpscut and Manitoba to name a few. Some Florker turned me on to Boards of Canada, and I have to say thanks to whoever you were. Very nice. The new Thom Yorke album "The Eraser" is good as is anything from Porcupine Tree (except Deadwing).

I am on this site to peek into foreign culture and invite political/social discussion because of my belief that discovery of common interests can prevent horror.

Music I like that no one seems to notice:

His Name is Alive
Coil
Current 93
Brian Eno
Dead Can Dance
Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud
Fred Frith

Song lyrics I enjoy,

"The walls on which the prophet wrote are cracking at the seams. Upon the instruments of death the sunlight brightly gleams. . .
knowledge is a deadly friend, if no one sets the rules. The fate of all mankind, I see, is in the hands of fools."

Send a copy of some music you think I will enjoy and I promise to return the favor:

Some day I will travel around the world and move from house to house of those I have met on Flork. Flork On!
