I love food. No, I'm not fat. But I am fascinated by how food is both art and science--and then, in the right hands, a source of utter delight.
I am a tomato geek, and I grow 30 varieties of heirloom tomatoes each year. I like stout beers, Grey Goose (pear, please), 2% milk, and water with lots of ice cubes.
I like most music (my recent grooveshark.com history includes Best Coast, Andrew Bird, Prefab Sprout, Afghan Whigs, The Langley Schools Music Project, The xx, Macy Gray, Deftones, Wilco, Joe Jackson, Queen...and Rick Springfield?! Might as well 'fess up to my Train curiosity?). I like Frank Miller graphic novels, Stephen King's books up to the Green Mile series, Vonnegut, Paul Auster, Andrew Vachss, Bill Watterson, Robyn Davidson...okay, I guess I read practically anything and anybody? Currently trying to decide if I want to dive into Murakami's latest book again (the Kindle should be a good alternative to that beast). I love puzzles and word games...you have the apps?
So, what's out there, not necessarily in the romantic sense? I am just looking for intelligent, self-aware but not self-centered people to correspond with.
A droll sense of humor would be a huge plus. I guess if we're both nice, we might even hang out. |
