Autumn is here and Winter is on its way in. I ran a lot over the past 2 years (like 10 times a month on average) & I'm looking forward to getting back to running in cold weather (makes it easy to know what to put on!)
I moved from primary teaching to teaching maths at a high school but that particular school was not the easiest place to work so I left and I'm now looking for a maths or a physics teaching job (50/50 split would be ideal) but I'm keen to hear from any maths or physics teachers particularly anyone in Singapore or Finland(!) as I'm keen to find out why your education systems perform so well. I teach Trachtenberg and Vedic methods in maths - do you use them?

I read a lot - mainly science (astronomy, physics, environment), maths, lots on creativity and writing, some medicine, psychology/self-development, Buddhism, politics and odds and sods, e.g. beekeeping, history of science in the Renaissance period, exploration. I try to do some song writing most days and I started a playscript at the start of Summer 2009 that I'm still keen to work on. As a website flork is a pretty terrible experience BUT there are a lot of pretty interesting people on it so that's why I persevere with it.

Add a link to your "Bookmarks Toolbar" in Firefox to "www.flork.com/flork_around.php" - that way you can jump around without having to move the mouse to the link on everyones profile - the link moves depending on size of the profile picture and text. In Firefox you can just drag and drop the "flork around" link, In Explorer it's easier to add the link manually to the "Links" toolbar. That way you can keep your mouse hovering over the link in your Bookmarks Toolbar (FF) or Link Toolbar (IE) and keep clicking to flork around. |
