I study English and Literature and therefore love all kinds of texts. Some of my favourite books are: * Milan Kundera - The unbearable lightness of being (so, so brilliant, it's my bible really) * Haruki Murakami - The wind-up bird chronicle (I think his best novel) * Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials Trilogy (just so amazing and griping!) * Henry James - The Turn of the Screw (fantastic!) * Herman Melville - Bartleby, the Scrivener (simply astonishing) * Alexander Pushkin - Eugene Onegin (so beautiful language!) and many, many more: Hermann Hesse, Janet Frame (esp. Faces in the Water) poetry by Emily Dickinson, Blake....
Besides I love 60ies/70ies psychedelic rock!!! ...when music was still great: Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Country Joe & the Fish, Cat Stevens (Harold & Maude soundtrack) The Beatles ...gone psychedelic the young Santana Hendrix Joplin Richie Havens .... some contemporary stuff is good though: Radiohead Sigur Ros Björk Calexico Postal Service ....
and my favourite movies: * Natural Born Killers * Harold & Maude * Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels * Bondi Tsunami * Heavenly Creatures * Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin)
So if you know more books/music/films that I might enjoy, let me know. |
