She wants to live the day
Like children lost in play
She wants to hear me say
We're on our way to everywhere
I love reading almost everything. The centerpiece of my lifestyle is my personal library, but I keep thinking I'll trim it down any day now. For fiction reading I like the classics, cheap thrills, 20th century literature, genre fiction, and Oprah selections. For non-fiction I like pop- pseudo-science-philosophy, politics, media analysis, travel, memoirs and bios, history, and business (with a specific slant).
I also like writing both fiction and commentary (politics and ideas). My fiction is mostly fantasy and sci-fi genre stuff or slightly exploratory almost literary stuff. Politically I'm a passionate Centrist, which is another way of saying I'm just as opinionated as the left and right; I'm just not either. My political writing searches for honest practical answers as opposed to grandstanding.
Iím a big music fan and musician. My own music is super-eclectic; A funky, acoustic, brit-pop, alt-grunge, groove kinda thang. I'm a singer-songwriter but I like to use compositional software and create full band arrangements. I spent a big chunk of my life helping engineers design software for musicians and audio engineers. That background has left me habitually analyzing (that's code for "complaining about") human interfaces and everyday interactive designs all around me. ...
I just spent 2 1/2 years on the east coast of the US, where I was teaching Mass Media and Music Business at a county college. Along with my music background, I also have a degree in filmmaking and photography. So I would say I am a media guy.
Today Iím composing my own music, but I'm not currently recording. I want to get back to that when time and funds permit. So unfortunately, right at present I cannot send you to the site where you can download my music. Someday soon, I hope.
I'm writing professionally at present and I am looking to possibly expand that career with new assignments and my own blog site. I had previously been moderating a political email distribution group, but I will be moving all of that energy over to the blogshere in the coming months. I'm working semi-seriously on a novel, and not-so-seriously on a non-fiction book. Hmmmm.... wonder why I haven't finished either one yet?
Throw me anything.
