Basically retired in Canada, I keep active by being a "Devil's Advocate". Both Canada & the U.S. -- not to mention the likes of England, France, Holland, Germany, Russia, China, etc. -- are in very sore need of devil's advocates promoting 'Independence', 'freedom', and 'personal responsibility'. There is nothing of consequence left in Canada. Our banks are more concerned with their place in the world market--and appear to not really give a fig about anyone with an account of less than six figures. Molson's Breweries is financially dominated by Coors, and the Hudson's Bay Company was recently purchased by an American consortium. In British Columbia -- where I live -- the Electricity Utilities has been sold to an American company by the provincial government. AND, the inherent evil is that the average citizen, without whom the country, province, etc., could not survive, has absolutely no say in the matter. They complain, but the governments do nothing turn a deaf ear to them.
A song that I like very much is "Life is a Song (worth singing)" the lyrics of which are:
Life is a song worth singing Why don't you... Sing It!? Life is a song worth singing Why don't you... Sing It!? You hold the key in the palm of your hand... Use it! Don't blame your life on the master plan... Change it! Only you generate the power To decide what to do with your life. Your a fool if you think your helpless you control what you do with your life.
Life is a song worth singing Why don't you... Sing It!? Life is a song worth singing Why don't you... Sing It!? Don't like the way your living. To bad! Can't change your life because it's out of your hand, so sad! So you sit on your pants and holler cause the world ain't been treating you right. Don't you know you contain the power to control destiny with your mind. |
