Eventually I want to move far far away into the wilds, preferrably northward. I like my nature bleak and untamed. "More Trees, Less People" is my motto.
Right now Im rawkin lots of random tunes, like Melvins, Ahab, Legendary Pink Dots, and Korpiklaani. Yeah, it sounds like I'm bi-polar, well maybe just musically.
In general, I like a lot of history or fiction based on history but I also love Victorian era horror and Naturalists observations. And folk stories!! Oh and I'm forever indebted to David Mack for the insights and beauty he has shared through Kabuki.
I work on the whole living thing, you know inhale-exhale, enjoy a bit, question most of it, and try to get some sleep afterwards so I can begin the cycle anew. But if you want specifics, I knit, I try to create the monsters of my imagination in writing, sewing, funny faces I make at strangers, you know anything that works.I also like to travel, I like people (in small doses), and plenty of things are always interesting to learn about so do share.
People have asked me if i write. I got bored at work and wrote this:
Winter Night by NR The moon has risen on high as the dogs bark and howl for what reasons only their ancestors could know. A peek out of the window and the mountain face is all that stares back. Its pale visage is slightly pocked by those brazen fir trees who’ve decided to stand alone as the rays of moonlight reflect off the snow around making their defiance stand out so clearly. So entrancing as it all is, one could easily be startled by the tapping of little wings again the cold windowpane. A small bat feels warmth and is testing for a way inside; the cat on the inside is licking its teeth and watching intently hoping for the same. The vent near the window goes off blowing hot air all around and the disconnect with the outside world begins. The cat jumps, the bat flies off, steam obstructs the view. The moon is replaced by the hollow glow of the TV and the computer gives one last big sigh before it falls into a deep sleep. |
