My name is Joe. I am just walking through, missing most of it along the way. I guess you have to though. I live in the United States. Illinois, to be exact. Been reading Upton Sinclair lately. Oil, because I wanted to read it before watching There Will Be Blood, and a reread of the Jungle. Being a small fucking cog in the monster brought me here I guess. I feel a Bukowski binge coming on again soon. The woman is eating away my soul and my drug use has increased by a bill so the natural progression is Hank. I'm surrounded by people and alone. So cliche, but fuck...I don't have the education to put it into a more digestible thought. I should drink more. You see, here in America, the big companies want to keep the alcoholics rolling around on forklifts but I have to make 9 dollars an hour and keep the freedom to smoke a few pinch-hits after work. Not a good reason, sure, but I'm not a drinker and need the escape pod.And I sure as fuck don't need sobriety. Anyway, I lost a girl and now feel sorry for myself so...as I look back I see I have just wasted a bunch of time whining like a baby so...sweet.
So, I like Bukowski, Sinclair, Kerouac, all the beats. John Fante, that guy was the fucking man. If you never read any Fante get Road to Los Angeles. I got a mountain bike I haven't been on in a year because I lay around jerkin off and playing internet poker so I don't have to work overtime. Fuck it. Any way to get a free hundo a week is a good way.
Hope to hear from someone new. Any book recommendations would be welcome too. Peace out world. |
