I am obligated to write a few passages, an elucidation as to who I am in this world.
I am doing no such thing anymore, for it is just a tool of judgment and I gain nothing by doing it.
You use it to assess my morality, to estimate the goodness in my character; it is used to judge my intelligence (or lack thereof).
It is supposed to form your perspective towards me. Good. Evil. Stupid. Smart.
It’s all obsolete.
Light is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash. The dread of evil is a much more forcible principle of human actions than the prospect of good. Morality has a paradoxical permanence, as it has been the very foundation of every civilization as far as the records go back. So, say you’ve assumed I was a good-hearted person; what is goodness? How can one define an action or thought as ‘good’ or ‘evil’? A Christian surely sees cannibalism as evil, whereas a cannibalistic tribe sees it as a praiseworthy feat. Which of the two are righteous? How can you tell? Surely they both think they are the ethical ones. Better yet, what is righteousness? We’ll just go in circles from here; such is the nature of paradoxes.
There is no good, no evil, no right or wrong...it is nothing more than a social-delusion we’ve brought upon ourselves to keep us in line, and stop us from thinking too deeply into things. The world leader’s are thankful for it, you can count on that.
Now comes your role: Misinterpretation.
I’m not giving any connotations that I condone such acts as murder, rape, burglary etc. I’m not telling you to go out and commit a plethora of crimes because there is no true definition of what is ‘ethical’. It is your right to choose the morality of your actions, I’ve nothing to do with any of it, and neither does your country, or your society. But...if you are comfortable with the possible consequences that your actions will manifest, what's stopping you?
What I'm trying to say to you, humanity, for as long as I can remember: Think. Don’t waste that abundance of grey-matter securely encased inside your skull. Think! It doesn’t matter what, when, or why! Think as much as possible! Question everything at least once, never stop wondering.
We’re losing grasp of the intellectualism we once looked-up to and appreciated no more than 60 years ago. There so much more to everything in this world that you pass by.
I’ve nothing more to say, I don’t really care if this is not what you were expecting. |
