Looking for clues;
What is the meaning of life?
By the standards that present themselves, it would appear to be simply impossible that we exist. But we do. Matter, energy, and consciousness inhabit the structures and forms which result in our lives.
The most amazing thing, with which I am attempting to contend, is: There can be no explanation. There cannot ultimately be an explanation for all of this. If God exists, he may provide one level of cause for the universe, but this then allows for the question of his own origin. The only other option is that a cause be found within the universe; that is, that existence is self-explanatory, self-evident; the necessity of its reality tied to its essential nature.
I guess one way to express it is that it couldn't be any other way, and have it and us here to invoke the question. |
