Why are people so eager to affix a label to themselves (goth, punk, emo, edge, geek, furry, etc), thus proclaiming their non-comformance with establishment culture, while hypocritically adopting, affecting, and conforming to every image, behaviour, and belief that is prescribed by their self-selected label? Perhaps because genuine non-comformists tend to get locked away in white padded rooms and force-fed a steady diet of mind-numbing drugs. And not the fun ones, mind you, the make-you-drool-all-over-your-shirt ones.

Based on past florks, you're probably expecting me to ennumerate every musician, writer, and film that identifies me as a hip consumer of trendy cultural goods. Well I'd rather bludgeon myself to death with a sofa pillow than spew forth all that, and I'd be surprised if you didn't feel the same way about reading it.

But if you still want to know, feel free to ask :)
