I need tranquility and beautiful little moments. I'd just be happy to make like-minded friends along the way. It's always nice to share them.

I have a very independent streak and incredibly, incredibly resourceful. I am fairly well travelled and passionate. I prefer to be honest with people.

I'm missing making friends. Just with people with common interests. Who like photography, literature, philosophy, discussion. Who like being enriched rather than sozzled. I admire mature, articulate and open-minded people.

My other loves are for cooking, intelligent conversation, foreign films and music, literature. Sex and alcohol isn't exactly the be-all and end-all. There's a lot more to life than that. Yet coffee is my weakness.

Countries I've visited : Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria (sigh), Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Holland.

Countries I've lived in:
Italy, Croatia, Austria, Scotland (sigh)

'm currently working in a fairly interesting role in Birmingham.

I was a postgraduate at Edinburgh Uni and tried to maintain a life around study. That was a mid-career break or so they said.. now i'm starting again.

I'm really good at Cooking on the fly. Finding Information. Getting into trouble. Sleeping anywhere. Compiling music most people have never heard of. Taking beautiful skyline photos. Writing great stories. Doing photo-essays. Take the initiative and talking to people.

I read a lot of books. I always appreciate others that do too. My bookshelves are creaking under the weight of books by Daphne Du Maurier, John Le Carre and a whole host of books covering politics, philosophy and languages. I suspect i was a literature student in a past life.

My favourite Books : We Need to Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver; Things Fall Apart - Chinua Achebe; The Edge of Reason - Miroslav Krleza;

I also collect short stories. Loving Under African Skies. I also enjoyed the short stories of Roald Dahl (they exist!), Gore Vidal, Franz Kafka, Daphne Du Maurier, Orhan Pamuk, Neil Gaiman and Balzac.

Favourite films 1. A Bittersweet Life (Dalkomhan insaeng) 2. Heat 3. Infernal Affairs III (Mou gaan dou III: Jung gik mou gaan) 4. Constantine 5. La Haine 6. In the Mood for Love (Fa yeung nin wa)

I have a rapidly expanding collection of old Japanese and Polish films. I'm beginning to really admire Krystof Kieslowski, Akira Kurosawa and Michael Gondry. I always like to meet people with anything-but-mainstream film taste.

i'm also a convert to Ergo Proxy and Ghost in a Shell so i'm an anime geek too.

You should message me if you'd like to actually have an intelligent conversation, you're spontaneous, funny. You don't have to have a burning taste in current affairs, literature or foreign films, but it helps.

I'm always keen to find and be found by likeminded, genuine types also seeking friendship. The fraternity of eternal strangers. I value honesty and sincerity a lot.

i'm always open to book, music and movie recommendations if you have something which you know is good or worth seeing.

Pretty please write in english rather than txt speak. i know i am appalling with my grammar at the moment, but its better than the retardation of tx spk. u gt it? I really really like people who put themselves across well through their writing.
