I am quite literate with particular interest in epics. In the Modernist milieu, I especially fancy James Joyce, Wallace Stevens, Louis Zukofsky, some Ezra Pound, Thomas Pynchon & Richard Powers. There are, of course, many more. I am drawn to Baroque and Classical music and Brazilian jazz. In general, anything of an "experimental" or "avant-garde" nature (something dense and superficially puzzling) and a wide range of mysticism...with emphasis in Qabala & Alchemy these days. The preceding might be said to constitute my obsessions along with a wide range of philosophy especially Plato, Aristotle, Spinoza & Heidegger. I think I might be an amateur phenomenologist. Those particulars seem relevant at the present moment. |
