I've just signed up and am more interested in browsing people than writing about myself atm.
however, here is a small something I wrote to occupy you in the mean time. the title is a work in progress but tell me if you like the twist :)
A Prayer for Hopeless Romantics by Michael O'kane
my love is bright for you I fight the only girl within my sight
your liquid eyes that don't deceive in your pure heart I do believe you are the force that makes me breathe my soul is lost were you to leave
wishing star please shine your light may I forever hold her tight I wish I may I wish I might dream this dream I wish tonight
(and no, the twist is not how the poem suddenly becomes very familiar at the end, sorry and yes, I've had it copywritten so please, please, please don't try to plagerize me for I shall be very cross with you if you do)
Okay, a few bits about me.
I am an uber nerd. I haven't made a proffesion of it, I don't live in my parents basement nor do I have erotic dreams about world of warcraft, but I do think that Voltron is the greatest thing ever, Doctor Who is also the greatest thing ever, and Douglas Adams (writer of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series, and I can not begin to tell you how dissapointing the movie was) is twice a great as both of those combined. Infact, if I had a choice between having lunch with jesus, hitler and nastradamus or douglas adams I would choose adams.
I once tested the theory that a sign on a gas station door that said no shirt, no shoes, no service, meant that pants were optional and walking in wearing just your bandana patterned cowboy boxers was kosher. Nobody realy semed to mind
I believe sentient thought to be born from conflict, for how can one be self aware if you have nothing to react to or measure yourself against. And if god is perfection, and perfection is, by all acounts, the complete absence of conflict, a sentient god is impossible. God is not a him, it's a concept. god is the a and the z but has nothing to do with b-y. It makes me smile that by this standard catholosism can now be dismissed as mythology and people can start focusing on the fact that no matter how much you realy do love jesus he ain't gonna stop a nuke from going off in your general vicinity if somebody realy pisses off somebody else who happens to be a sociopath with a nuke, and an army, and a mediumish sized county full of sycophants at his disposal. This worries me very much.
I am a Red Sox and Patriots fan. I have earned this right by being born (and growing up) in the north end of Boston.
And I have a tendency for run on sentences and shouldn't write when I've been drinking.
for further details. . . . . . . . drop me a line. |
