I like to drink beer & ale, but I believe that Muhammad (PBUH) was the Messenger of God. I also have mad respect for Rastas, but don't think that Hailie Selassie was God any more than I am. I believe that Ibn Al-Arabi's Wahdat al-Wujud is right on & that Hajji Bektash Wali was too. I'm a vegetarian & believe that sacrifice means more than killing goats & that "Bakri Eid" is a misnomer.
I don't pray salaat in public very often, because of "Salafis" who want me to pray out loud, or who interupt me when I'm praying- its between me & Allah, so please back off until I'm done & then tell me whatever you want. Allah Knows Best.
So, yeah, apparently I'm not Muslim, becasue I'm not good enough. Thanks. I still in believe in Allah, The Prophets, Angels, Jinn, & the Last Day despite all this of this & wil make Du`at for you.
I also like weed- but only sometimes. In reality, I can't stand most stoners I've met- they usually fuck up a perfectly good high by talking about stupid shit like cartoons or farting- screw you jerks.
I have three college degree- an Associates in Liberal Arts, a BA in History and Relgious Studies (Islamic Studies minor), and an MA in Comparative World History- concentrating on the Middle East and Islamic World.
My areas of research are on the Fatimids, Indian Ocean trade, cultural exchange, enslaved African Muslims in the West, Nizaris, Tajik Badakhshan, Azerbaijan, Gujarat & other areas of exchange between Muslims & "others." |
